Air Pollution Control Laboratory
 
 
Introducing the center:
1- History:
The Air Pollution Control Laboratory was established in 2015 to train undergraduate and postgraduate students and assist both students and university teachers in conducting research.
2- Visions:
To train necessary skills to would-be environmental health engineers, including the following:
  • Assisting in improving health and solving environmental problems as teamwork;
  • Identification of physical, chemical and biological operations and processes in order to improve the environment;
  • Recognition and application of pollutants measurement devices and equipment;
  • Recognition and selection of efficient technologies for pollution control;
  • Recognition of the methods of evaluation, monitoring and management of environmental health and environment; and
  • Gaining knowledge about laws, standards and pollution control programs.
3- Perspective:
We intend to offer applied courses to the graduates so that they will be able to design, manage and implement environmental health plans, and to offer one of the most prominent educational programs across Iran by improving our program qualitatively and quantitatively.
4- Mission:
  • Providing a suitable platform to conduct experiments and training related to air pollution control; and
  • Promoting research in air pollution control.
5- Equipment:
 
Research priorities:
1) Air pollution (gases and particles) and determining related health effects, disease burden and mortality;
2) Environmental factors and biomarkers and their relationship with health;
3) Monitoring radioactive elements of natural origin and methods of their reduction and control;
4) Modeling environmental pollutants and their health effects;
5) Zoning environmental factors and their pathogen burden;
6) Health measures during the outbreak of environmental pollution;
7) Geographical and spatial analysis related to health, diseases and their determinants;
8) Biological and chemical effects and nuclear radiation; and
9) Preparing equipment, identifying and sampling chemical and biological agents
